Beautiful Forester Green: 1949 Chevrolet 3100

This 1949 Chevrolet 3100 is a half-ton pickup that has reportedly spent much of its life in Oregon. Power is supplied by a later-model 235ci inline-six paired with a column-shifted three-speed manual transmission. Equipment includes a dual exhaust system, 16″ steel wheels, a refurbished wood bed with stainless strips and mounting bolts, LED lighting, dual side mirrors, and stainless steel fender accents and window trim. The truck is finished in green over brown and underwent a cosmetic refurbishment in 2002. Recent work consisted of a replacement fuel pump and a rebuilt starter. This Advance-Design pickup is now offered with an extra set of wheels.

The truck was refinished in its current shade of Forester Green in 2002, while cream pinstripes and tailgate lettering were added in 2010. Features include polished stainless steel bumpers, window trim, and fender accents from a later Deluxe panel truck, along with dual side mirrors, running boards, and LED turn signals and tail lights. Replacement wood bed slats were installed in 1999, while the stainless steel tailgate chains were added in 2021. The windshield wiper arms have been removed but are still with the truck.

Body-colored 16″ steel wheels were repainted in 2014 and are equipped with white pinstripes, polished hubcaps, and 205/75 Toyo Eclipse whitewall tires showing 2014 production dates. Work in 2013 is said to have included replacing the shocks, tie rods, kings pins, drag link, pitman arm, wheel bearings, brake lines, and shoes. A spare is mounted under the bed.

The bench seat has been reupholstered in brown vinyl and the headliner, door panels, armrests, and floor covers have reportedly been replaced. Amenities include two-point seat belts and a stainless steel cupholder.

A three-spoke steering wheel sits ahead of a Pearl Beige-painted steel dash that houses an 80-mph speedometer. The five-digit mechanical odometer indicates 83k miles.

The factory 216ci engine was replaced with a 235ci inline-six during previous ownership and is equipped with a Fenton exhaust manifold, a custom dual exhaust system with 21″ glasspack mufflers, and an oil-bath air cleaner. The electrical system was converted to 12–volts, the wiring harness reportedly replaced, and a horn has been installed. More recent work in May 2021 included a replacement fuel pump and rebuilt starter. An oil change was performed approximately 500 miles ago.

Power is delivered to the rear wheels via a column-shifted three-speed manual transmission. The factory torque tube has been replaced with an open driveshaft and a differential with a higher gear ratio has also been installed.
