Details

The Willy's Overland Motors M38 Military Jeep was built from 1950-1952. It was modified over the CJ3A platform with a sturdier frame, upgraded waterproof 24-volt ignition and electronics, as well as ventilated air intake and axles provisions for duty in wet climates that may require crossing through high water!

The durable Dana axles and transfer case allow for rugged 4-wheel drive in both a low and high range. The bodies were fitted with lifting shackles for air mobility, and a rear pintle hook for towing. An axe and shovel were tools affixed to the side in the event an obstacle lay in the way!

These Jeeps were used primarily in the Korean War efforts. The beautifully restored 1951 Willy's M38 4x4 Jeep was complete in early 2011 with excellent period specific detailing! Powered by its original, rebuilt 134ci Inline 4 cylinder engine and 3-speed T90 transmission, it provides amble power and reliability!

Accessories include decommissioned Browning M2 50-caliber machine gun, ammo box, HC Ball & Co. Swivel mount, vacuum powered wipers, radio antenna, spare gas can with hold down strap, convertible top frame and straps, folding windshield & tailgate, rear mounted spare wheel, all correct Denman 7.00x16LT military tires, Selectro Heavy Duty front hubs, and an air raid siren! To really get onlookers excited, the prop gun is fitted with an oxygen/propane firing mechanism that makes a very authentic machine gun sound with ear piercing quality!

This absolutely rust free example was treated to a full nut-and-bolt professional restoration to be used confidently in military reenactments, parades, military reunion events, or even a Hollywood movie! For military collectors, you will be pleased to see the level of detail that went into making this a real treasure to have! From the correct canvas covered seats, brass dash placards, beautifully detailed engine compartment & undercarriage, painted numbers and Army stars, to the hand airbrushed skull and spade on the hood, it really portrays a great military image!

The entire inside of the tub, as well as the inner fender wells, were all sprayed with Rhino-Liner to add years of durability to the interior floor or any debris that may impact the inner tire wells!

This is a real head turner in more ways than one!
