Details
This Turbocharged VW Beetle R-Line is quick and smooth! Finished in Titanium Silver with Black fabric interior. Equipped with a 2.0L turbocharged motor cranking out 210hp. The R-Line replaces the Sunroof, Sound, and Navigation package in the Beetle Turbo lineup.
On the exterior, the model features new front and rear bumpers over the standard model and lacking the chrome strip of regular Beetles, they give the car a more aggressive appearance. 19" Tornado style wheels come standard on the R line as well, a flat bottom steering wheel, and LED running daytime lights. The R line usually comes standard with a manual but this one is optioned with the dual clutch automatic transmission.
One of Volkswagen's goals with the model was to give it a more aggressive appearance while giving it some stylistic aspects reminiscent of the Beetle's design. This was an attempt to distance the new model from the Volkswagen New Beetle, produced from 1997 to 2011, which never approached the success of the first Beetle. The second generation "new" Beetle shares the "A5" platform with the current generation Volkswagen Jetta and is built alongside the Jetta, Golf Variant and the old Jetta at Volkswagen's plant in Puebla, Mexico. It is longer than the previous New Beetle by 168.4 in and also has a lower profile, 0.5 in lower than its predecessor, and 3.5 in wider.
